Why Small Dogs Ask To Be Carried
At ankle height the world is a different place. Feet arrive without warning, doors swing, and every other dog is enormous. When a small dog paws at your leg in a busy street, it isn't being difficult — it's asking for the one thing that reliably makes the street safe, which is to be up where you are.
The trouble is that carrying a dog in your arms lasts about four minutes. Your shoulder aches, you can't reach your wallet, and you end up putting them down exactly where they didn't want to be.
A sling makes it sustainable. The weight moves off your arms and across your body on a wide padded strap, an interior clip means a startled dog can't get out, and the open top lets them keep their chin on your forearm and watch. You know where they are without looking, because you can feel them. That turns out to be the part people don't expect and don't want to give up.
